About

Thanks for visiting my WordPress site.

I’m a 32 year old football-obsessed male in the wrong career. I went to Uni and have never been out of work since, but for a while I have known I should have studied sports coaching or teaching as a degree rather than Business Studies.

I’m a Grimsby Town fan and season ticket holder. I went to my first Town game at 7 years old and have seen Town through 2 promotions, 4 relegations, 4 play-off finals and 4 other cup competition finals. I’ve seen the Mariners play at Wembley 6 times. I’ve seen us beat Liverpool at Anfield, Harry Redknapp’s West Ham, Martin O’Neill’s Leicester City, Martin Jol’s Tottenham, and seen us take Ruud Gullit’s Chelsea to a replay.

I’ve always played football and have been coaching since 2012. I’ve coached in grassroots and academy football at various age groups from 5-15, as well as a short spell with a senior team.

On this site you will find my CV, some write-ups of my Coaching journey, some general articles I’ve written on Coaching and some other miscellaneous articles on general football matters.

You can read how I got into coaching here: “The Beginning of a Coaching Journey” (18/02/2013)
And an explanation of my coaching philosophy here: “My Coaching Philosophy And The Environment I’m Trying To Create” (10/09/2013)

I hope you enjoy reading some of my stuff. And if you do, why not subscribe to follow this blog, so you receive an email when I post a new piece.

Thanks

Tommy
